The XC60 was designed from the outset to use a plug-in hybrid powertrain. This means the batteries and electric motor of the Polestar engineered plug in-hybrid provide stunning acceleration and a significant reduction in CO2 emissions without compromise to space, versatility or weight distribution. The car plugs into a domestic power socket to top up the battery, and the batteries are recharged automatically on the move, as you slow down. The powerful petrol engine means you can even keep going without an electric top-up.
You can adapt the XC60 Polestar engineered plug in-hybrid to your needs by choosing from a range of drive modes. Pure mode provides enough electric-only power for the average daily commute. In Power mode, the turbocharged, supercharged petrol engine and powerful electric motor work together to give instantaneous response. The default Hybrid mode chooses between the petrol engine, electric motor or a combination of the two.
